Continuing this year with my brand of the month.  February welcomes you to the extremely delicious OMBAR…

I had the pleasure of trying out this brand for the first time when I received a bar in a goody bag from an event in London.

Being a lover of dark chocolate anyway, I knew from the first bite that this was going to be a new found favourite of mine.

These vegan chocolate bars are made with the best Ecuadorian cocoa.  The chocolate has a deliciously smooth taste.  There are plenty of flavours to choose from, so you won’t be disappointed!  Their chocolate is made with plant-based ingredients and all fair trade.  Ombar recently brought out a pistachio bar – I do love a pistachio, so this was double favourite for me 🙂 YUM!

A little history..

Ombar was actually founded in 2007 by Richard, who started the brand from his kitchen in Cambridgeshire.  His desire was to create a healthier chocolate by introducing raw cacao.  You can find out more about the history of Ombar here https://www.ombar.co.uk/pages/the-ombar-story

Ombar’s chocolate is healthier as they “KEEP IT RAW” they process their cacao at a low-temperature.  Helping keep the nutrients and flavours which would normally be lost with the high heat roasting of most other chocolate.

For those into spirituality and holistic methods “cacao has been used for centuries in traditional ceremonies and is said to open the heart chakra” – now I know why I get all these extra feels for this brand!
